Peltracom successfully concludes take-over of Norland

On December 2nd Peltracom acquired the control over Norland (www.norland.be). With this operation Peltracom seeks to continue its continuing growth in Europe and consolidate its leader’s position in Belgium and France.

Situated near the Meuse in Seilles-Andennes, between Charleroi and Liège, Norland is an important producer of substrates and soil improvers in Wallonia. Because of its location, it has access to different kinds of bark (Sylvester and epicea) and is known for its qualitative production of composted bark and ground covers.

The Norland site is equiped with a bark screen and 3 fully automatic packing lines. Norland will provide the Peltracom Group with packed products such as bark and substrates. The complimentary portfolios of products and clients of Norland will enable Peltracom to accelerate its growth within and beyond the borders of Europe.

Peltracom manages its peatland in a sustainable way.

the charter defines the principles for responsible peatland management, starting with the choice of peatland, its preparation, peat extraction and after-care. By signing this charter, Peltracom shows its commitment to returning peatland to its natural state after peat extraction. Furthermore, it will not use any peatland wich is part of a NATURA 2000 area. Before work commences, a datiled study is performed to esteblish the impact of the activities on nature. In consultation with the local authorities, peat is only extracted from sites where there will be minimum impact on the surroundings and nature.
